Chris Horvath

Thirty-something years experience in all things musical... and still diggin' it.

Chris Horvath has been a fan of ALL types of music for as long as he can remember. He thinks his affinity for everything from 70's funk and obscure art rock, to TV themes and classic jazz has been his biggest asset in becoming a musician.

Chris grew up in Cleveland, Ohio but always had his compass set for the sun soaked metropo-burb of LA.

Prior to moving to the West coast, he attended Berklee College of Music in Boston as the recipient of the Quincy Jones Scholarship for outstanding Composer/Arranger and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music.

Chris is a multi-instrumentalist with his focus being guitar and keyboards

Whether working with artists, creating scores for film & tv, or performing & Music Directing for all types and sizes of live shows, Chris brings enthusiasm, musicality, and over 30 years of experience to every project.

He has scored many film/tv/multi-media projects and is comfortable in a wide variety of styles, as you can hear on the various LISTEN pages.

Chris feels very much at home writing & producing songs, whether an artist based project or custom tunes for film & tv. He also loves arranging and playing in live settings and has done extensive large ensemble work; adding orchestras & horn sections to established artist’s live shows.

He has also been very successful in commercials, having written several hundred national and international campaigns for most of the major advertisers and ad agencies. For his commercial writing Chris has won the Golden Clio Award and a London International Advertising Award, among others. He also received a PIXIE award for best iFilm underscore.

Chris is an active speaker at various industry panels and has been a guest speaker or teacher at USC Thornton School of Music, UCLA, NARAS Grammy In The Schools Day, Ryder University, Nazarene University, Case Western Reserve University, SMMUSD, and Berklee College of Music among others. He is a member of SAG, AFTRA, AFM, a voting member of The Recording Academy, and a founding member of SONA (Songwriters of North America), an advocacy group that works to preserve the rights and revenue of music creators.

Chris is the founder and creative director of Jamnation Music, an independent music production and publishing company based in Los Angeles, CA.
